Delhi Metro is the lifeline of Delhi NCR. Every day, lakhs of people travel through its stations, and every station has a customer care area where staff help passengers with smart cards, tokens, lost items, complaints and route information. The person who handles these tasks in DMRC’s permanent staff is called a Customer Relations Assistant (CRA). Many job seekers search for these roles as ‘Delhi Metro ticket counter jobs’ or ‘Delhi Metro customer care jobs’.
This guide explains the DMRC Customer Relations Assistant recruitment for 2026 in simple English. We cover eligibility, pay scale, selection process, exam pattern and how to apply on the official DMRC website. We also explain the difference between permanent DMRC posts and contract ticket counter jobs given through outsourcing agencies. Please note: at the time of writing, we have not confirmed a new 2026 CRA notification, so all dates, vacancies and fees are marked as pending until the official notice is out.

Age limit
Earlier notices usually kept the age limit around 18 to 28 years for general category candidates. The exact limit and cut-off date will be given in the official notification.

CRA staff must meet DMRC’s medical standards, which include eyesight and general fitness checks. There is usually no running or physical endurance test for this post.
Salary and Allowances
DMRC is a joint venture of the Government of India and the Government of Delhi and follows the IDA pay pattern. Based on earlier notices, the CRA pay scale is shown below. The final figures will be as per the new notification.
Along with salary, permanent DMRC employees usually get benefits like DA, HRA, medical facilities, leave, PF and gratuity as per company rules.
Why a DMRC job is attractive
A permanent DMRC post gives job security, regular pay revisions, medical benefits, and a respected position in a well-known organisation. Employees also get training and a chance to grow into senior posts through internal exams and promotions. This is why competition is high, and serious preparation is needed.
Application Fee
| Category | Fee |
|---|---|
| General / OBC / EWS | Will be updated after the official notification |
| SC / ST / PwD | Will be updated after the official notification |
| Ex-Servicemen / Women | Will be updated after the official notification |
Selection Process
An online objective test covering general awareness, reasoning, numerical ability and English, plus subject-related questions as per the notice.
Some DMRC posts include a psycho test to check attention, reaction and customer handling suitability.
Your certificates, caste certificate, age proof and other documents are checked.
A medical test by DMRC’s authorised doctors to confirm fitness and eyesight.
Selected candidates are listed on the official website and get joining instructions.
Each stage is qualifying in its own way, so you must clear every step to reach the final list. Keep all original documents ready well before the document verification date, and make sure your name and date of birth match in every certificate. Small mismatches can delay or even cancel your selection.
Exam Pattern and Syllabus
The exact exam pattern will be in the new notification. Based on earlier CRA exams, you can prepare for these areas:
| Section | Topics |
|---|---|
| General Awareness | Current affairs, Delhi Metro facts, basic science, history, geography |
| Logical Reasoning | Series, coding-decoding, blood relations, directions, puzzles |
| Quantitative Aptitude | Percentage, ratio, average, time and work, profit and loss |
| General English | Grammar, vocabulary, sentence correction, comprehension |
| Subject Knowledge | Basic computer and technical subject as per the notice |
Negative marking has been part of DMRC exams earlier. Practise previous year papers and mock tests to improve speed and accuracy.
Preparation tips
- Start with the syllabus given in the last CRA notification
- Practise 20–30 reasoning and maths questions daily
- Read one newspaper or current affairs summary every day
- Learn basic facts about Delhi Metro lines, history and services
- Take at least 10 full-length mock tests before the exam
- Revise English grammar rules and common vocabulary
Many candidates lose marks because of negative marking. Attempt only those questions you are fairly sure about, and manage your time so that you can read every question once. A steady study plan of 2–3 months is usually enough for a well-prepared candidate.
How to Apply
Go to www.delhimetrorail.com and open the Careers section.
Download the CRA notification PDF and read eligibility, dates and fee rules.
Create your account with a valid email ID and mobile number.
Enter personal, educational and category details carefully. Upload photo, signature and documents in the correct size.
Pay the fee online if required, submit the form and download the confirmation page for your records.
About contract ticket counter jobs
Many ticket counter and customer help desk staff at stations are hired through private outsourcing agencies on contract. These jobs usually need 12th pass or graduation, basic computer skills and good communication. They are not permanent DMRC posts. If you apply for such jobs, verify the agency, get a written appointment letter and never pay money for joining.
A good way to find genuine contract openings is to check the websites and notice boards of known facility management companies, reputed job portals and local employment exchanges. Ask for the agency’s GST or company registration details, and confirm your salary, shift timing and ESI or PF coverage before you join.
Scams and Mistakes to Avoid
Documents Checklist
